Mosquitoes are a common nuisance in Taiwan, including the popular Yehliu Geopark. The warm and humid climate of Taiwan provides the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes, leading to a high population of these pesky insects. Mosquitoes are not only bothersome due to their itchy bites, but they also pose a health risk as carriers of various diseases.

Year round mosquito forecast

In Taiwan, mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever and Japanese encephalitis are of particular concern. These diseases are transmitted to humans through the bites of infected mosquitoes. Dengue fever, in particular, has been a recurring issue in Taiwan, with outbreaks occurring during the rainy season when mosquito populations are at their peak.

Yehliu Geopark, a popular tourist destination in Taiwan known for its unique rock formations, is not immune to the mosquito situation. Visitors to the park are advised to take precautions such as using insect repellent and wearing long sleeves to prevent mosquito bites. The park management also takes measures to control the mosquito population to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors.
